The new album American Sonatas from Two Millennia, with duo partner and highly accomplished pianist Er-Hsuan Li, features some of the most demanding sonatas for alto saxophone and piano by American composers David Maslanka, Robert Muczynski and William Albright. The highlight of this album is the new edition of David Maslanka’s Sonata.

This is the premiere recording of the new edition, digitally engraved by his son Matthew Maslanka. All three sonatas are masterpieces among the classical saxophone repertoire, and Wonki Lee and Er-Hsuan Li present invigorating interpretations of these prodigious works, which will enrapture and entrance listeners.
