    Zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts erkunden neue Sprachen Terrae incognitae. Was noch erstaunlicher erscheint und was die vierte Aufnahme der Pianistin Véronique Bonnecaze für das Label Paraty beweist, ist die Tatsache, dass Prokofjew zwar eine geradezu leidenschaftliche Vorliebe für aggressivste harmonische und rhythmische Reibungen wie in der sechsten Sonate zeigt, sich aber gleichzeitig als ein Genie der Melodie erweist. Er überwältigt, wenn er sich der slawischen Melancholie hingibt.
