    It is a happy coincidence when, on the occasion of a remarkable opera premiere, a bassist celebrated by the professional world and one of his singer colleagues develop a closer friendship and discover their common preference for the Wienerlied, and it is a godsend for all lovers of this genre when a project spontaneously developed by both ends in a joint Wienerlied production.
    Günther Groissböck and Karl-Michael Ebner thus follow prominent predecessors from the circles of Viennese artists of the opera stages, who with their interpretations make typical Viennese songs known to a wide public beyond the circle of special lovers.

    We are not talking here about the isolated "upscale" Viennese songs in the repertoire of the international Bu?hnenstars, with whom they pay homage to their host city during their performances. All of the above Kusnstlern was and still is about carrying a regionally rooted treasure of melodies, the traditional heritage of a music-loving city into the present and preserving it. The Wienerlied has been declared dead again and again in the past, but has always found enthusiastic performers and an interested audience. In recent decades, there has also been an increased interest of young musicians and listeners.

    Neither of the two singers let a single moment doubt that this profession fu?r both quality singers of the "serious" subject would not be predestined to be interpreted harmoniously and stylistically excellently. The claim in the direction of Viennese was immediately guaranteed with the accompaniment of the Philharmonia Schrammeln.
