The combination of tenor saxophone and trumpet has a long tradition in jazz. In order to explore the sound of these two instruments as pure as possible, "harmonic accompaniment" by piano or guitar is dispensed with in this instrumentation. The sound is reduced to the four voices of trumpet, saxophone, double bass, drums and offers a special charm and open sound due to its simplicity. The compositions are largely written by Nösig and Erian and reflect the approach to the improvised music of the two, which combines not only the origin from Carinthia, but also the joint years of study in Holland. The stylistics range from free improvisation and bop to folkloristically inspired pieces and rubato parts.
