Blue Rose is a stroke of brilliance and is a candid peak into the inner early 70's LA scene. Aside from very memorable songs and powerful production, it is even more appreciated with a bit of understanding of how Los Angeles worked in that day. Without any kind of context, however, it is hard to know exactly what one is listening to in Blue Rose.

Some of the best LA players of the day were in and out of Blue Rose in its short run. To those familiar with the record and the personnel such as Chris Mostert, Harvey Mandel, Bobby Blood, Michael McDonald, Dave Thompson, and of course Terry Furlong this album is an amazing, unique capture.

Unfortunately the band fizzled due to various business issues it never really got off the ground long enough to get support what would have been their break-out hit: Sweet Thing.

But that's Hollywood. There were many gems that fell through the cracks in that era.
