We published the first edition of this book series in early 2024, and received quite a few positive feedback. We are glad to know that our book series is helping students and working professionals land dream jobs in the hardware industry.
The second edition of this book series is still structured in the same way as how the modern ASIC / VLSI industry partitions the workflow, and we still focus on Architecture and Micro-Architecture design in this book.
However, in Part 1 Architecture & Prototype, we removed contents that are easily accessible online, and added contents on software APIs, DRAM and DDR memory controllers. The intention is to provide a big picture of modern SoCs. In Part 2 Micro-Architecture Design, we added more contents such as cache design, FIFO sizing, hardware based data sorter, etc. We believe these newly added contents will help candidates succeed in hardware design interviews.
As hardware engineers, we understand how stressful and struggling the interview process can be. We hope our book series can come to a rescue.
