Jobim himself described Adnet's voice as "deep, rich and mysterious" not just because of the alliteration. Adnet's beautiful instrument gets the perfect setting from these musicians and arrangements: not only is the estimable Trio da Paz on this recording (Romero Lubambo, Nilson Matta, Duduka Da Fonseca), but there are wonderful performances from trombonist Jay Ashby, flugellers Claudio Roditi and Randy Brecker, and pianist Hugo Fattoruso, whose spare, lyrical style evokes The Man himself. Songs I Learned From Jobim contains a full range of moods, fine musicianship and excellent material. It's also a must-hear for Jobim completists, since it offers such unexpected and delightful insights into his musical self.

Two arrangements: one, undertaken by Gustav Mahler and revealed in 1984, of the most famous of Schubert's 15 quartets, 'Death and the Maiden', of which he completed only the second movement Andante, which he in fact conducted in concert. Nowadays, such an expansion charms like the transfer of Schonberg's "Verkldrte Nacht" or Berg's "Lyric Suite to orchestra"; the other, attempted many times, finally achieves a soloist-orchestra balance that preserves the Arpeggione's divertissement nature. Gaspar Cassado proposed a version for large symphony orchestra that is somewhat overwhelming in relation to the simplicity of the original text. The present version for cello and strings, of which this is the first recording, offers a viewpoint both concertante and da camera that shows the purity, fraternal elan and timeless character of the cello's melody to best advantage.

The Mass is an album released in 2003 by Eric Lévi's musical project Era. It is Era's third album. It achieved success in several European countries. The title track, The Mass, is an adaptation of O Fortuna, a classical piece by Carl Orff.

Era (styled as +eRa+) is a New Age music project by French composer Eric Lévi. The band has sold more than 12 million albums. They use lyrics (by Guy Protheroe) which although similar to Greek or Latin are in fact deliberately devoid of any exact meaning.

Unhalfbricking was, if only in retrospect, a transitional album for the young Fairport Convention, in which the group shed its closest ties to its American folk-rock influences and started to edge toward a more traditional British folk-slanted sound. That shift wouldn't be definitive until their next album, Liege & Lief. But the strongest link to the American folk-rock harmony approach left with the departure of Ian Matthews, who left shortly after the sessions for Unhalfbricking began.

Journey to the Centre of the Eye is the debut album from English progressive rock band Nektar that came out in late 1971. Because of its narrative nature, it has been called a rock opera and/or dense concept album. The music of the album is commonplace in early 70's progressive rock. It uses a range of musical effects. The guitar used psychedelic distortion and the wah-wah, as well as screeching distortion. It has psychedelic influences, as well.

Remember the Future is the fourth album from English progressive rock band Nektar. It is a concept album featuring one song divided into two parts. On the original LP, each side contained one of the two parts. In 2004 Remember the Future was once again re-released, but this time by the UK's Eclectic Discs/Dream Nebula Recordings. For this reissue the remastered version was used and they added a third Radio edit of the title track. This version was also released as a SACD, with a 5.1 surround mix on the SACD layer; the 2 channel audio CD layer contains the 2002 remix. Track 3 ("Remember the Future") is an edit released on a various artists compilation album titled "Made In Germany". Tracks 4 and 5 are radio promo only single edits.

The Rolling Stones is the debut album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released by Decca Records in the UK on April 16, 1964. The American edition of the LP, with a slightly different track list, came out on London Records on May 30, 1964, subtitled England's Newest Hit Makers, which later became its official title.

One of the biggest-selling jazz albums of all time, not to mention bossa nova's finest moment, Getz/Gilberto trumped Jazz Samba by bringing two of bossa nova's greatest innovators – guitarist/singer Joao Gilberto and composer/pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim – to New York to record with Stan Getz. The results were magic. Ever since Jazz Samba, the jazz marketplace had been flooded with bossa nova albums, and the overexposure was beginning to make the music seem like a fad. Getz/Gilberto made bossa nova a permanent part of the jazz landscape not just with its unassailable beauty, but with one of the biggest smash hit singles in jazz history – 'The Girl from Ipanema,' a Jobim classic sung by Joao's wife, Astrud Gilberto, who had never performed outside of her own home prior to the recording session.

Yo-Yo Ma might seem like an unlikely protagonist for the tango, but this intrepid musical explorer has taken his task seriously, collaborating with experienced tango musicians. Ma even participates in a posthumous collaboration with one 1987 Piazzolla recording. Furthermore, while he's obviously the headliner here, he doesn't dominate the arrangements nearly as much as he does the billing and photography of the disc. While the result isn't your essential Piazzolla album (that would have to include more of the composer's own playing), it's an atmospheric and convincing collection, perhaps a good introduction for those who don't know the music.

The Original Soundtrack is the third studio album by the English art rock band 10cc. It was released in 1975 and peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart. The Original Soundtrack includes the singles "Life Is a Minestrone", and "I'm Not in Love", the band's most popular song. The album received good reviews when originally released on LP and cassette by Mercury Records in March 1975. It was ranked number 976 in All-Time Top 1000 Albums (3rd edition, 2000).

Deceptive Bends is the fifth studio album by rock band 10cc, released in 1977. The departure of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme in 1976 to form Godley & Creme almost ended 10cc. However, Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman continued to run the band with the assistance of drummer Paul Burgess who already worked with 10cc acting as second drummer to Kevin Godley on tour. The first single taken from the album, "The Things We Do for Love", reached No. 6 in the UK Singles Chart, No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 1 in Canada.
