Swedish drummer Magnus Öström really made his name internationally with his work in the style-creating and iconic jazz trio E.S.T. but has also marked himself strongly as a soloist with several releases in his own name. He has also worked with artists like Pat Metheny and Benny Golson and demonstrates with his multifaceted and unique play that he is undoubtedly one of Europe's most important drummers.

Thor-Erik ønsket å gjøre noe musikalsk som hadde en høyere himmel over seg og det viste seg at Lewi hadde gått svanger med grovskissene til et salmekonsept i flere år. En idé om å bringe salmeskatten ut til menigmann på barscenene. Begge var samstemte i å gi konseptet et forsøk. "When I started reimagining the tunes I had composed for Trio or Quartet settings for a larger ensemble, I realised this would inevitably limit the improvisational freedom of each player. I also thought that abandoning the idea for this reason would be like comparing apples and oranges–the small ensemble, with its intimacy and full improvisational freedom, and the large jazz ensemble, with its rich palette of colours, interwoven melodies, and dynamic grandeur, are simply two distinct ways to express music, like changing the dress for a different occasion. And so, I began to sew a new wardrobe for the Songs and Dances on this recording.

To the uninitiated Cracker might seem to be just another 90s alternative rock band. However, fans recognize that the band is much more than that, having skillfully explored a wide array of styles over nearly 35 years.Regrettably, when newcomers hear a Cracker song and wish to learn more about the band, they often start with algorithmic streaming playlists. These playlists are typically limited to the dozen or so tracks with the most streams. As a result, these playlists are dominated by a few albums from the early 1990s, the heyday of alternative rock radio. There are also a few “greatest hits” compilations for Cracker available, but these at best cover only the first third of the band’s 35-year career. Both of these sources overlook some of the band’s most critically acclaimed and fan-favorite work.

Konstantin Reinfeld and Benyamin Nuss are releasing “Merry Harmonica”, a Christmas album that presents well-known Christmas carols in new, surprising arrangements. The idea arose spontaneously during a performance in Dubai at EXPO 2021. Reinfeld, who has been fascinated by the harmonica since his youth, brings the instrument to the album with emotional depth. The repertoire includes classic Christmas songs and international hits, reinterpreted in different styles such as jazz, blues and Latin. Prominent guest musicians such as Alma Naidu and Marc Marshall further enrich the album.

Live in Keele 1977 can be seen as a sort of companion to the previous Can archival release, Live in Aston 1977. Both date from the same tour, during the period when former Traffic member Rosko Gee was the group's bassist, and the oft-misunderstood Afro-Latin funk excursion Saw Delight was released. Like the other releases in the Can archival live series, the tracks are presented as numerically titled jams, though actual set lists for these concerts have circulated, and similar to other volumes in the series, the album doesn't include the entire concert.

The 12-track set is the latest embellishment in a catalogue that opened in 1972 with 'Whatever's for Us'. That LP launched the distinguished career that has led to MBE and CBE decorations, Ivor Novello and BASCA Gold Badge Awards for songwriting, BRIT and Grammy nominations, countless honorary degrees and far more.
